The loom is out

..of its resting place and in the living room. I am going to do an hour later - and I'll time it to make myself do it - once I get back from my walk. I am expecting a bit of resistance at the beginning as it has been a while. Note to self: learn how to use the digital camera - it can't be that hard. Surface design, such as these frog skins, really intrigues me.

That's the first step: getting the dust off the loom. Just give yourself some space to doodle with the yarn. No expectations, just let your hands and the yarn get reacquainted and see what is stored in tactile and muscle memory!

When the resistance is really bad, I find that two things help: figure out how small I can make the first step and then putting it on my calendar. I haven't had to do this often, but when I have, the original planned 5 minutes or less has always transformed into hours.........

Oh, and you are right. Digital photography is not that hard. One of the great things is that you can take a zillion pictures at a lot of different angles and with a lot of different settings and then when you are at your computer, madly delete.

You sound a little like me with my writing. I wrote fiction in my youth, but seemed to decline in imagination and determination as I got older. I've been attempting to write a novel, but get quite discouraged reading back some very banal dialogue and situations. I've actually reached 5000 words this year, after starting the thing about 5 years ago...now, if I can reach 10 times that, even if it IS c**p, then I'll have something to work on.

Good luck with the weaving or, should I say, with inspiration for it.
